Inks and Colors by me, ~CorranFett :iconcorranfett:

--------------------

Ayden Stone, Mandalorian Supercommando.

Like Gladus Tite, Ayden Stone is one of my Mandalorians OCs (Original Characters) from my SW NJO-era fanfiction series Rage of the Shadow Warriors, and he's some sort of wisecracking allrounder with a bias for old slugthrowers. :D

I'm pretty content on the colors themselves, I might only do another background. This was just a quick one.

I used the awesome custom Mando armor of slavefive from TDH for inspiration for the colorscheme. Here's a shot of his ori'kandosii beskar'gam: [link]

Steps:
1) Sketch by Kuk-Man
2) Inks by me
3) Colors by me
EDIT 10/19/07:
Small revision, a little improved background and a more battle-worn armor.

Nice work on the colours. My only suggestion is to use a hard edged brush to get more detail into the parts that are meant to look a little battered, it'd add a lot more texture. Great colours though, they're very western comic like which is cool.

Pain is like a drug, we get high off of it cause that's what we've ever known or want, but there's Someone that's better than pain, better than any drug. Take a wild guess...

Very sleek in colour and design, I actually didn't think it lacked much of the wear, it's got a great cutting edge style to it and wonderful choice of shades to compliment eachother. A definant fave :)

Glad you like it, man! :D

As for the texture... that's one of the downsides when working with hi-res stuff. The original version is 4054x6040 pixels, and the texture details I put in there are lost in the downsized version. On the other hand, I don't want to post the hi-res, mainly because most things don't look nearly as smooth as on the small version. I will try to add some more battle-damage, along with a better background, to a revised version, though. I just didn't have any more time yesterday, and will try to get to it tomorrow.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your constructive feedback. That's what an artist always appreciates most. :)

Oh, and thanks for the watch, too. I'm honored. :D

Hey, thanks for stopping by, and thanks for the fav. Glad you like the colors, they are inspired by the great custom armor of a fan, whose nick I can't remember right now. I always loved his choice of colors, so this is some kind of tribute.

hehe I know what you mean about resolutions. In some of paintings I start out small then enlarge them as I go, or enlarge the lineart and paint at the full res (usually in the 6000s or 9000s at 300dpi). I start painting zoomed out and it looks great, then i zoom in and realise how wrong I was. Don't worry about things looking too smooth, rough edges and hard brush strokes add a lot of character to pieces.
